I was fired from a high-profile tribal position—but curiously, not a
single critic has addressed why. Those eager to smear my name are quick to dig
up a business failure from 16 years ago or spin the food truck purchase as a
bad deal, yet their efforts have failed to gain traction. And still, the
biggest question remains untouched: Why was I terminated?
If there were a valid reason for my dismissal from Big Fish, wouldn’t
that be the centerpiece of their attacks? The silence on this point speaks
volumes.
Let’s look at the facts. Under my leadership, the restaurant operation
was generating over $1,000 a day in sales. Golf memberships were at record
levels. Our multi-million-dollar tribal enterprise was thriving—and rapidly
growing. I’ve already shared the numbers and stats in a previous article, https://lcotoday.blogspot.com/2025/04/what-really-happened-at-big-fish-golf.html, so I won’t rehash all of that. But
this time, I’m also sharing Google Analytics data that shows where the
operation stood then and where it stands now. Find those stats at the bottom of this article.
Those analytics reveal a stark drop in interest—virtually no one is
searching for our food or our golf offerings, even as the season begins. That’s
clear evidence of the disaster these egomaniacs have inflicted on our beloved
golf course.
Led by Cameron Quaderer, the golf board started by changing my recipes,
then eliminated the entire menu we built—scrapping everything I had a hand in
creating. One cook even told me they sold just five burgers during an entire
week of his shifts just last week. They’re also driving out staff I hired by
cutting their hours so drastically that they’re forced to quit and find work
elsewhere.
I’m hearing over and over from Hayward residents how disappointed they
are with the golf operation—from customer service to the brand-new golf carts,
which are being mismanaged. The zones are too restrictive, making it hard for
older players to retrieve balls. The pace of play is rushed and unenjoyable.
Worse still, the intended purpose—preventing groups from clogging up a single
hole—has failed completely.
My removal was purely political, plain and simple. As evidenced in this
article, https://lcotoday.blogspot.com/2025/04/what-really-happened-at-big-fish-golf.html, it had nothing to do with
performance and everything to do with ego and nepotism. Because my last name
didn’t “fit,” they cast me out with zero regard for the damage it would cause
to the golf course and its operations.
Now, consider who’s been put in charge. Three people on the golf board
(outside the tribal governing board members) now oversee a multi-million-dollar
enterprise: a 25-year-old who thinks he knows it all, a former truck driver,
and someone who cleans up properties after housing evictions. These are the
people trusted to lead our highly valuable multi-million dollar enterprise? All
thanks to Chairman Louis Taylor, Vice Chairman Tweed Shuman, and Dave
Bisonette.
Are these really the leaders our Tribe deserves? Absolutely not.
With elections just three days away, the urgency has never been greater.
We must remove these individuals from tribal council. The nepotism must end.
High-paying jobs on the Rez should go to qualified tribal members—not just to
friends, relatives, and in-laws.
Let’s talk about nepotism. In 2022, the Tribe received $55 million in
ARPA funds. Of that, $3.7 million was allocated to administer the money—split
among just eight staff members over three years. One person, Brian Bisonette,
received nearly $600,000 in salary alone. Brian is the brother of Dave
Bisonette and closely tied to Louis Taylor through family, their children are
married and have kids together. He holds not one, but multiple titles: ARPA
Coordinator, Land Manager, Conservation Director, and THPO Director. Why has so
much been handed to one individual, while other qualified tribal members are
overlooked? Those are other job titles that could be offered to other tribal
members.
Want more proof? Ask Booki Weilgot for a copy of the ARPA budget—as a tribal member, you have
every right to see it. You’ll find millions spent on pet projects tied to Brian
Bisonette: a new building for Conservation, new vehicles for all the guys in his
programs, and much more. Sure, some of the funding went to good programs—but
far more could’ve gone to directly help our people.
In summary: it’s time for change.
We must vote out Louis Taylor, Tweed Shuman, and Dave Bisonette. Their
actions have shown they no longer serve our people or our community—they serve
themselves and their inner circles.
Let’s take our Tribe back.
