There comes a time in nearly every man’s life, well, those
who have ventured into news and publishing, when he asks himself what is the
next chapter going to read like. It’s been a few years since my last journey in
the world of news and publishing, and now, I have excitedly embarked on a new
journey. My next chapter begins with the creation of MinneapolisWeekly.com, a
news and events guide and business directory for the city of Minneapolis.
I’ve had a vision for an awesome city guide for a couple of
years now, one that would cover news headlines, be filled with photos, have
plenty of content, provide an area for educational purposes, serve as a guide
to loads of community events, host fun-filled contests, be a searchable engine
for all the businesses in Minneapolis and a whole lot more.
I spent a considerable amount of time deciding when and how
to start the chapter. First, I had to outline a plan for what the site would
look like and what kind of content I would produce. And then, how would I bring
it to the world. I had to build a branding and marketing plan before I laid the
groundwork. How would I consistently produce fresh content? How would I successfully
enlist businesses to advertise? How would I proceed to drive traffic to the site?
I did my due diligence and now I am pleased to introduce the finished product
(although still a work in progress).
Welcome to the new online city guide made just for
Minneapolis! MinneapolisWeekly.com features local news, real estate listings,
restaurants, weather, visitor's guide, local business directory, events calendar,
reviews, blogs, auctions, polls, free classifieds, coupons, a dating site,
forums, a kid’s zone, local job search, garage sales, church, school and club
news, and more. Whether you live here or are just visiting,
MinneapolisWeekly.com has it all!
I dream big, so naturally, my goal is to be Minneapolis’s
number one source for online information. No more thumbing through the phone
book only to find outdated information. As I mentioned, the site is still a
work in progress as I fill in articles, forum topics, local news, auction
items, upgrade the business listings, classifieds and more, but soon enough,
visitors to the site will be able to find out what’s happening around town and
who’s who right now! MinneapolisWeekly.com will be open 24/7. You can search
our site for local info 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
MinneapolisWeekly.com also offers businesses affordable
advertising that will work for you all day, every day. Our ads do not end up in
